Trimis and Savva
My main question about the article is the practical approach of exploration in the classroom environment. Most of the time a field trip is a great way to provide an opportunity for students to study their environment. The question that arises is if it is the most practical and effective way. I would think that it would be necessary for students to preform some research and critical analysis prior to the actual trip. Exploration of the environment is a great way for children to link themselves to their community and environment. However, the kind of trips that the reading mentions would be limited by reality. Such things as time and funds are limited if one were to conduct such a trip it would have to be a focused exploration. The question then is what should the students be looking for and what would be the best way to make use of their time on the trip?

9/19 readings/ video
The videos of the classroom examples provided examples of media exploration and teacher actions that were discussed in the readings. The Kerlavage article i thought provided the greatest amount of practical information regarding the developmental state of children. While we may have an idea of what children are like as developing youth, it is hard to find how that links back to art making. This article along with the Swann article, showcases and provides applicable examples of how children develop as visual learners. The most important thing that I walked away with was that the actions of the teacher should not interfere with the student's exploration of the media.

Art ed Brainstorm.
The purpose of art education sounds simple. However its components are not so easily defined. Based on the readings that the class chose, we divided into groups to discuss and develop our ideas. Education was divided into the subjects of teacher actions, student action, environment, and student/teacher relationship. It was easy to categorize our individual readings. What happened after we finished is that we begun to recognize connections between our readings. While my reading was based on race and society, it could relate to educational theory. what this shows is that there are connections that we may not be aware of at first glance.

Hey, welcome
For an introduction it's not much but I'm not one for many words. I believe that the fewer words it takes to deliver your message the more effective it is. Short, simple and strait to the point are the key aspects of design that I focus on. Information clarity is the overarching goal of my design work.
